My 9 inch!
« on: November 05, 2006, 10:28:35 AM »
From grip center weightholes!

Well...I"ve struggled for a long time in a local house.  Wet heads, BONE dry midlane...carrydown.  Cement outside 10 but then sometines a hang spot at about 5.

Had a Sonic Boom....garbage on this shot! 4 X 4 and
Even...and if dry too early.  If wetter then not enough backend.  Ready to trash it!  Spoke ot TGod and he said try an old 9 inch from grip center in an 8:30 direction weighthole(3:30 for you wrongsiders(right).

Since I did that the ball has been beautiful many places in our area.

Skips the midlane a bit and pushes to the break and then has a smooth agreesive board coverage in the back even on carrydown.  All of sudden often one of my best balls.

Went in a few weeks ago and a couple of 25X in practice.

Today...for some small pots against a tough group...average around 220 in a center a lefty hasn't sniffed 220 in about 5 years!

Some lower horsepower cores you want to increase their backend horsepower...9 inch from grip center weighthole.  Get one!  The combination of lower flare ball and this tweak seems to really work on those dryer shots where backend seems to still be needed

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS also put the same on a too little (lots of flat 7s Sonic X solid)  Wow said some of the onlookers as this was part of above!
PPS that TGod knows his weightholes!
PPPS...Caution...a friend did same on a ball with a cg on grip center line recently.  Ball just went earlier as he took the sideweight sharply negative!

I'd like to repost this link...as I have found that it has a couple of low flare balls that were heading to the "outta here" bucket to become two very strong parts of my arsenal.

If you have hooking heads and or midlanes and have chosen some of these low flare balls like the sonic X (.020) or the sonic boom(.035) then these weightholes can turn a pig into a star!

I have been really having some nice results with these two since I made this change to them.

My thanks to the knowledgeable and helpful TGOD.  I believe he IS the weighthole guru!

Now they are long and skip thru dry and then really make a dramatic but still rounded move to the hole which is strong enough for where one has to play on our local severe dry dryers (with carrydown some places to boot).

Note for the heavy handed...I would not usually place these in a high flaring ball because the rumor is these holes increase flare.  Well I didn't notice an increase in flare on these 2 and 3 inch flaring balls but I did see the requested increase in backend reaction.

As I watched my Sonic X last night slash out 7 pin after 7 pin I kept thinking of the phrase..."Tomahawk Chop".

Lovin it!

Dead...knew that stone age thing.

On my side this stone age idea is working on more standard drillings.

Have a pin on pap with 9 inch weighthole ball too!

What do you think of above post for it's purpose?

Just an update...found my Sonic Boom is 9 inches.

The Sonic X solid is 7 inches from grip center...sorry for wrong info.

Increase in move was greater in the Boom.  Increase in move on the Sonic X...substantial also...but less than the 9 inch.

My pap is 5 3/4 out!
