What do you think?
« on: August 13, 2008, 02:59:07 AM »
I'm going to be getting my T-Road Pearl plugged and redrilled.  I'm looking to fill a different gap with it, and that's of a smooth rolling piece.  I'm going to be drilling it pin on axis, or really close to that.  What would you rather do, and why?  1 inch pin to PAP?  2 inches?  3? On the midline, above, or below?

I plan on hitting the ball with either a 2k or 4k abby pad, depending on what it needs.  But no polish for it; the pearl gets it to go long enough for me.

I'm righty, stroker, 250-ish revs, 15-16mph at the deck, my PAP is 4.5 over by 3/8 up.

On a side note, I'm sorry that your Gravity Shift isn't working out Raven.  I found the cover to be very very sensitive to coverstock changes also, but honestly, once I hit it with Resurrection and Snake Oil on a spinner, it was new again.  It actually smoothed out the over/under I sometimes saw OOB.  But if you don't like the OOB, then you won't like that surface prep, haha.  What surfaces have you tried it at so far?

I never actually got to try it in OOB.  The pro shop put it in the Haus resurfacer to smooth the plug work out.  I took it home to the spinner and tried 1500 wet sand plus a light coat of Ebonite Factory Finish polish.  The ball wanted to hook but just died on the back and hit like a turd.  Next I tried 800 plus a light coat of the polish.  The ball still wanted to make a move but just wouldn't turn over at all.  I'm having the x-hole plugged right now because I believe that is part of the problem.  I also have an order of the Valentino sample pack on order and will try that also.

I thought the cg was on a 45 degree line from the pin off the vertical grip line.

edit
My mistake. I checked BrunsNick's site. It's a 45 degree angle from the pin to pap line.
