Actually, they''re pretty good(IMHO)since the MB can be preety much be placed anywhere without having to worry about static side weights.

I like to put the pin IN my rign finger then have the MB at 60 degrees. Good strong layout

you can still use the dual angle layout system in a symmetrical ball. basically just draw a line from pin thru the CG. use that line, as you would normally use a line from pin to mass bias for asymmetrical balls. hope this helps.

What is the top weight?  If it''s fairly low (less than 2 1/2) you can lay it out just about any way you want to and get it legal by drilling gripping holes deeper and/or using a balance hole.  Also, before you drill it check the cg location and top weight on a dodo scale to be sure it''s not mismarked.  --  JohnP

I'm not so sure about the Dual Angle Drilling Technique on the short pins.  According to Mo Pinel's description of the technique it also works for "ALL bowling balls with the pin out at least 1 1/2".  My opinion, and it may not be a correct one, is that you'll have the Pin to VAL angle and the pin distance portion of the Dual Angle Technique to work with but not the ability to fine tune with the drilling angle.

I think your best choice for this short of a pin would be a pin under drilling as long as your ball track isn't high enough to need to worry about flare over the finger holes.
