Hanging up in the thumb
« on: January 06, 2008, 12:00:01 PM »
Hey everybody, i have a problem, i just bought an inertia, and gave the guy my equation to model it off of, well the span and thumb hole are fine, but my thumb can't get out of the ball. Could this be a pitch problem, i mean just straight up not coming out of the ball. Today i went to throw it, and never let go lol. Or could the span be a bit long than my equation. Any suggestions?

Bring the ball to your local pro shop and he can put a pitch gauge in the thumb hole and tell you right away. If the thumb pitch is OK then he can take some measurements to see if the span is OK. You are lucky you didn't get injured.

Dang.. I told you should of let me drill it!

And also, its bad because his pro shop is so far away. My guess is that he forgot some pitches.. That is what really makes the difference. If you can feel the difference between two balls, then obviously this one was drilled wrong.. If this is the situation, he will just have to plug the thumb to the top of the hole, and redrill in the same spot not showing any signs of plug.

I went and got it fixed, All the pitches were the same, span was the same from the hole that the slug went in, but where the slug was drilled was a bit different. He beveled out the front to where the other one is and it was fine. Thanks for the help everyone. Xfest, im loving the ball.
