I'm getting a spinner for Xmas
« on: November 01, 2008, 02:33:43 AM »
My wife doesn't realize it yet, but she's going to make me very happy when she buys a spinner. I want to help her out by making sure she gets the right one. After all, it is for her favorite bowler in the whole world...

Comments on best model and best way to obtain? From past posts, I'm sure 1/2 HP and foot pedal would be a good combo, but brand? Other thoughts?

My wife would say thank you in advance if she knew

Thanks guys. One more question. Is it mandatory to build some kind of a container for splashing or is it not much of a problem?

You don't need to build anything. Go to Wal-Mart and get a Rubbermaid or similar tub. That's what most people do. When finished using your spinner, you simply put the lid on it and store it where ever you want.

Mine is a Rubbermaid Roughneck Tub with Lid. Size is 18 Gallon and dimensions are 24" x 16" x 16.5". I don't remember the exact cost, but I think it was around $6 or $7.

If you wet sand or polish without the spinner being in a container it will throw gook all over you and the room it's in.  Get the container before you get the spinner, because you know you're going to have to use it the day you get it.  --  JohnP

lefty50, most people that have had spinners and especcially if they have owned a Donkey Spinner at one time or another, will advise anyone buying a spinner not to get a Donkey Spinner because the Donkey jumps all over the place when you use it and it has to be bolted down, whereas the Vertex sits there and never moves.
