Help with drilling a ball with high top weight..
« on: October 13, 2009, 12:14:49 AM »
I just picked up a x-blem Roto Grup Alliance Tour from bowlingball.com and the pin is fine and the pin cg and mass bias line up great but the ball has 4.88 oz top weight.

Should I be concerned about this much top weight? What can I do to take some of this weight out when drilling. I was going to go with s stacked type of drilling.

any comments would be appreciated..

It should be ok. If you use grips and a slug your probably gunna take out around 2 1/2 to 3oz anyway. Plus your allowed 3oz top or bottom after drilling.

If the final drilling has the CG far enough off of the midline I might be concerned about getting all of the side weight out / the size of the weight hole.  Just make sure your driller weighs out the ball before they drill it to help ensure they can get it back to legal static weights.
