I picked up a Jigsaw for a song because the cg is way out of line.

Looks like this:

............pin
cg

............mb

I''m left handed (duh) so I thought I could just drill it up using the Number 2 drilling and put a balance hole about an inch above my pap. Any input as to whether this drilling would be something to be avoided would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

how much top weight? if you draw a line from pin to mb, how many inches left from that line is the cg? whats your pap? more info is needed.

Lefty, I picked up a bunch of these x-outs from Ebo-Hammer-Columbia over the last year or so and have not had issue with any of them in terms of performance, so that's a good thing here.

As for layout you can basically do whatever you want as long as your driller maps everything out first, weighs it and is able to use a weighthole to make it USBC legal on the static weights.

The ball you have is what I would call a right handed ball since you could put the cg near the grip center, have the MB and pin strong and not need a weighthole.

My favorite layout here would be to get the pin around your ring finger somewhere (typically 4-5" off your PAP), put the mb strong and then put the weighthole right on the cg to make it USBC statics legal.

At least you don't have one like I got....the pin is actually in between the cg and the mass bias!!! Granted the pin and cg are less than 1" apart but still :-)

Ha I just pulled two from storage and they're gems. One has the CG about 2-3 inches right of the base line and almost no left handers here throw hammer. And the second is a 1" pin with no MB marking

I have an X-Out Jigsaw in the mail, but I'm afraid it might not work for the layout I had in mind, but the picture you drew...typed... out looks like exactly like what I need, for the 10x4x20 layout I wanted to try.
If you can't get that ball to work out for you, let me know, and maybe we can make a straight trade. I can get pictures for you when the ball arrives if you're interested. Either way, Good Luck with yours!

I drilled up an awsome finish that had the cg 3 inches to the right. It had a 4 inch pin. I am right handed. I put the cg on the pap and the pin slightly above the midline in the center of my grip (almost like a rico) you need a wt hole. the ball worked great. early and controllable like you were looking for adrenaline.

drill it semi rico if the ball is pin out enough to put the cg on your pap, the ball will work great you may have to drill fingers extra deep. check top wt if too much top wt you won't get it legal with a rico wt hole. You might try a pin to cg wt hole 6 3/4 inches from pin. I used a 7 1/2 on mine it worked great.

Ya know, I drilled a Sauce with a Modified Rico, (1 Inch up the Center Line for High Tracker) and the ball went too long,and had a hard, quick arc. Not a 'snap' but definitely not smooth and controllable. This Jigsaw is what I plan on using to try and obtain the look I didn't get from a Rico drilling.

I would check to see if CG is miss marked. I had several in the shop this year and they were miss marked.

I am right handed and I got an x-out Jigsaw the EXACT OPPOSITE of yours.

I went with a 55 x 3.5 x 25 layout. I have a medium high track so this layout is between the "fast revving - firm breakpoint" and the "strong midlane - heavy forward roll" layouts.

Of course it ended up out of spec with too much finger and side weight, so I decided to drill a hole for my pinky finger. I had a small grip laying around from a used ball, so the pinky finger hole ended up 1" in diameter and 2.5" deep. After drilling the pinky finger the ball was still out of spec so I drilled a weight hole almost 2 inches past my pap.

It ended up being more "strong midlane - heavy forward roll", so it's really controllable. Threw a 221 first game with it during our Saturday morning pot game, then put it away.
