Title: Help with Rule Delta 1 layout, please
Post by: Laybzz74 on January 12, 2006, 01:05:32 AM
I'm getting a single-drill/used Delta and I would like some recommendations for a bowler of my style and with my PAP (I have a copy from the TRACK website for drill patterns to reference) ... my stats are:

"Power stroker, 232 rpms off my hand, 17.5 mph ball speed, axis rotation is 75-80 degrees, axis tilt is 15-20 degrees, and my PAP is 4 3/4 and 1/2 up"

I would like this to be my strongest reactive ball, which shouldn't be a problem, based upon what I've read about it; also, I'd like it to get through the heads and midlanes smoothly and have a strong, continous move to the pocket and through the rack (strong arc).

Thoughts ???

Keep the pin around 4" from your pap and move the mb between the number 2 and 3 position.  This should give a nice strong continuous arc to the hole.  You don't really have to worry about this ball being continuous.  This ball drives harder than anything I have ever seen.

Now just because it drives hard does not mean that it hits great.  I have found that this ball drives so hard that it chops thru the pins.  So basically if you miss big on a shot you will be punished with a split.  Plus don't throw this ball at any spares that have more than 1 pin.  This ball just doesn't really deflect much.

O'Fallon? Doesnt Mike Mineman drill in that area? When it comes to laying out Track equipment he is second to none.

Yes, Mineman DOES run the pro shop at St Clair and he has lots of experience with TRACK, although he's on BRUNSWICK staff now; I'm simply trying to get as much info as possible to prepare for when I go in to get the Delta puched out.
Thanx for taking the time to reply.

Sorry, I used to go to him when I was at school in Carbondale. Anyhow, good luck with the layout, plenty of helpful people here to get you on the right track. (no pun intended)
