I was looking to pick up a Visionary Immortal Solid from my friend. I know I will have to plug the thumb because his span is too short. However, I track high and his pin is just below his ring finger. The weight hole is on the thumb side. Will I roll the ball over the holes if i just plug the thumb, or should I plug everything and start from scratch? For reference, I drilled a Green Gargoyle with the pin just above my ring finger with a weight hole near the fingers and it rolled over the holes.

It better go long and hit like a Truck

Well if your rolling over the holes you are probably a full roller. Im a very high tracker of 6 over and 3/8 up and I don't even run over the holes. I do have a LevRG that flares alot and I'll clip the thumb and the weight hole with all the flare because the weight hole is about level with the fingers.
With my high track I've had two balls that worked well with the pin below. One was an Action Max and it just turned the corner like you wouldn't believe, then I been using my friends Supernova with the pin down and it makes a very hard arch to the pocket on the backend but with it being duller its more controllable.

Cool, thanks for your input

There is nothing like watching a ball go 58 feet before it flips to the pocket and annihilates the pins...

I have a question related to this too, if someone wouldn't mind helping me.
I have two balls with the pin in line with the ring finger - one above the ring finger, and one below. On both of these balls, I track over the middle finger hole. I recently got a new ball and drilled it stacked - pin next to the ring finger. On this ball my track is a good three inches from the fingers and thumb. Does this make sense? Should I try placing the pin somewhere intermediate between stacked leverage (pin next to ring) and control drilling (pin in line with ring finger)?
Thanks

What i find when drilling balls is that if the customer is a high tracker and i do a layout where the pin would be partially drilled out by one of the fingers move the pin below the fingers. If the layout is pin above fingers and is not really close to being drilled out at all then you may leave it where it is. Hope this helps.
