What is hook set?
« on: March 12, 2007, 06:02:31 AM »
The term hook set came up the other day when I was talking with some friends about drilling layouts.  What kind of ball would you drill for a hook set reaction?  What would be the optimum lane conditions for a hook set drilling. What type of bowler would use a hook set drill, cranker, tweener, stroker?

i have a track crash with a hook set drilling.  i drilled it like that to play the deep middle.  i basically only want the ball to face the hole with no backend.  i use to control over/under on heavy flat patterns.  i usually leave corners and the occasional five pin but on tough conditions leaving "solid" five pins is better than going washout then face for splits.
