Higher track
« on: December 08, 2005, 03:46:19 AM »
I worked on my physical game in the past off-season and I now have a higher track than before.

What type of release causes a higher track vs. lower track?

My track used to be lower, probably about an inch away from the thumb hole.  I seem to get better results from the higher track, on the conditions I am bowling on.

I guess I am looking for some explanation/verification for my findings.

Thanks

A high track generally comes from coming up the back of the ball more as opposed to more around the side as with a lower track.

What about Pete Weber, he's on the side of the ball and his PAP is in the 5 3/4 range?

A higher track could mean you have learned to release the ball with lesser tilting movement of the wrist in the release. Lower track bowlers often tilt their wrists in the release.
