Hinetani Drill press
« on: January 17, 2019, 08:33:14 PM »
Has anyone ever drilled on one of these Japanese drill presses? I picked this up and I’m trying to figure out if there’s a way to change bits without removing the ball.
Ive had all the great presses out there. I thought this thing was cool as hell so I had to have it. Just wish I knew more about it. I believe its 75 years old.
Thanks

Yes I have.  in fact its likely that you have the one I lost when I could not pay for the storage unit I had it in.  I loved drilling with it.  But if you do not know what you are doing you will destroy a ball easy.  I would rather drill on tht than any of the other machines I used.  I was planning an moving it into a vacant proshop but then jost my income and that was that.
