Would it be possible to make one? Isn't it just a simple balance beam scale anyway?

I want to 'try' and make a Kaufman type scale. I mean, it's not like they're complex or anything. It's just a balance beam scale.

Funny you mention a baby scale...not too long ago, I was actually considering trying to weigh our newborn on the Kaufman.

I'll take one!
A kit sounds great to me, so long as it's a bolt together and solder type thing, I don't have access to a machine shop. is this a load cell type?
