How can you locate a CG on a ball...

... that has no apparent CG marking?  The only visible marking on the ball is the pin.  I know Lane 1 has some information on their website on locating a CG, but they seem to start in the area of their diamond pattern.  In this case, there's no hint of any place to start.

Often times with ball companies the serial number is placed near the CG or 180 degrees from it.  They also have a habit of locating all other engraving on balls at 90 degrees from it.  Sometimes with Brunswick the marks are tough to find so you can look at the Big B on the ball and start looking under it until you find the little divot.

Once you have a general idea of where it is you could then use a scale to pin point it.

Use the technique on the Lane 1 site.  They start out with the first line fairly close to their marked cg, hence in the diamond area.  With no marked cg, you'll just have to guess where it might be to start.  If the results don't look right, try again starting at a different place.  --  JohnP
