Will shorter PIN's raise your track?
« on: March 11, 2005, 04:15:05 PM »
If I take 2 of the same ball... one with a 3" PIN and the other with a 1" PIN... and drill both with the PIN say beside the ring finger and just stack the CG directly below... will the shorter PIN ball track closer to the fingers than the longer PIN ball.

I've heard that shorter PIN's do raise the track a little bit closer to the fingers and thumb.

True?

I would say it puts the Bowtie closer to the fingers, not necessarily raise your track.

Would that Bowtie movement be enough for an already very high tracker to actually clip the fingers?

Lowing the pin in you grip can raise your track.
Many times a driller may want a larger pin distance to
keep the pin above the fingers for the drill pattern
they want to use on the ball of a high track player to
avoid any potential of cliping the thumb or finger holes.

So as long as the pin is above the line drawn from your pap
to the center of your finger/ring finger you should be fine no
matter what the pin to cg distance.
