Put the pin and cg in the grip center. I did this with a pure hammer and got great length and backend out of this ball. Believe me with this layout the ball will still hook a lot on the backend but it will be controllable.
Better than Axis? I don't need it to Hook much. but do like to control off dry.

Instead of pin axis, which is a little extreme, I'd go with the pin 1 1/2 inches from your pap. This will give you a little more movement, and i'd be afraid of pin-axis hitting like crap, as it would use everything up before it got to the pocket, especially on dry.

You'd have to have a low track for this not to thump thump as it goes down the lane.

pin 4 inches from axis, placed exactly 1 to 1.5 inches above ring, with the cg swung out about 50º.
Great length with a controllable backend.

I got balls, I have never thrown an axis layout ball but this layout that I described will hit the pocket strong; you will have great carry.
