Span/forward thumb pitch
« on: June 20, 2005, 01:21:50 PM »
As you move thumb pitch forward, do you typically shorten the span? I started at 3/8 reverse, went to 1/4 reverse, now am at 1/8 reverse. I believe the span has remained the same throughout these changes. Just wondered what others found to be normal as far as span changes as pitch was altered.
Thanks,

YES, assuming your span was not short before you started moving thumb forward.

It Depends.

Unfortunately many bowlers have stretched spans. They would need to shorten their spans as they move towards forward pitch in the thumb.

Bowlers who have relaxed fingertip grip to start with probably doesn’t need to shorten their spans.
