Smooth, Tame, Arcing Layout??

Thinking of laying out an asymmetrical ball for a very smooth, tame, arcing reaction and have questions about it. My PAP is 5 1/4" over, and if I layout the baqll with the pin 2 1/2 inches from PAP, with cg in palm, slightly right of center, and mass bias left of thumb on track would this layout give me the desired reaction I am looking for?

Trying to get a smooth rolling piece that will not over react on a medium frsh shot with clean backends. More than likely a polished solid shell.

Any comments or suggestions appreciated.

My specs. PAP 5 1/4 X 0 up or down, medium speeed (15 - 16 mph) and 15 degree tilt.

You'll most likely have trouble flaring the holes having MB that far in your track. You'd be much better off starting with a symm ball.

You could try the opposite, with the MB at or near the axis and the pin under the middle finger. That would give you early roll with some continuation. If you want more length, you could go with a 6x6 layout with the MB in or above the thumb with the pin 3" from the VAL.

Ive had several balls with this layout. With the pin that close to your axis point the ball will not over flare, but I would put the MB closer to the thumb and not outside your track. That layout will have a very nice early breakpoint with a smooth response to friction. This layout will shine on snappy and fresh backends but will strugle once the backs go away.

Putting the MB in the track works good, but you may want to try a slightly higher flaring pin position.  Saying all of this is good and all, but doesnt matter unless that MB is strong.  what ball?

I have 3 balls drilled 2.5" Pin to pap and love it
 
I would def put the MB on the positive side of the thumb somewhere in the 4-5 pap-mb range

Ball with this layout is Columbia Full Swing. Polished to also assist with being able to keep it straighter through the heads, added length, and to keep reaction once transition happens. Used it in league, was able to start about 10, pretty straight, with smooth reaction, as night went on, was able to use it all 3 games, from about 12 - 5 with no over reaction on back. Shot 657 with an open each game, and those were when I "grabbed or hit it" at the bottom and went high with 4, 6 7 left as result. It did exactly what I wanted it to do for these conditions.

How about using a pin-in asymmetrical piece, the put the MB at 1-1.5" from PAP and put the pin in the finger area (would probably end up in the middle finger area)?
