Weighing a drilled ball is simple.

Note that the grip center should always be centered as the "north pole.

Slide the front weight to the "0" location.
Place the ball in the scale with the thumb closest to you. Midline should be centered east/west, and grip centerline should run north/south. Slide rear weight on scale until it balances perfectly.

Next, spin the ball 180 degrees (thumb facing away from you now). Slide the front weight on the scale until it balances. If you moved the weight to the right, this tells you how much positive side weight you have. If you moved the weight to the left, it tells you how much negative side weight you have.

Zero the front weight again.

Next, turn the ball 90 degrees so the thumb is to the left. Balance the scale by moving the rear weight. Spin the ball 180 degrees so the thumb is on the right. Move the front weight to balance the scale. If you moved it to the right, it is finger weight. If you moved it left, it is thumb weight.

The difference between the two sides cannot be greater than one ounce.
Same for finger vs. thumb.

If you are over the 1 ounce limit, the easiest way to remove weight is to draw a line from the grip center through the CG. Place your weight hole at the intersection of this new line and your vertical axis line. Please note that this is just to simplify getting your static weights back to legal and does not take ball reaction into consideration. This is also assuming you have a reasonable PAP location
