Yesterday bowled in the second day of the gateway classic(which I will make a post on, had some very interesting things happen). I started off poorly due to flying backends, the backends were sqeaky clean and the head oil was not enough. I was having major troubles controling my breakpoint. I got locked in once carrydown helped control my breakpoint, but if I had done better the first 3 games I would possibly have been in the finals rather than at the back of the field.
In other words, my question to you ball gurus, what are some good drillings to control your breakpoint? It seems like all my equipment wants to make a left turn as soon as it hits the dry, and when there is no hold area or carry down, I struggle to stay clean while others take advantage and eat my scores alive. I am getting a slate blue gargoyle soon for dry lanes but I am thinking of maybe replacing my thrash with something that can handle medium oil with more CONTROL.
Just curious, what are good drillings to tame the backend? I saw 2 guys throwing balls with the pins right in the middle of the gripline. They bowled extremely well. I was thinking that might be the way to go. Any comments? Just want to have some good ideas before picking up my new stuff.
