Finally, after looking quite a while, I got ahold of a 1" pin in a ball. Going to punch it up tomorrow afternoon and use it tomorrow night. What reaction would you expect from this?
Mean Machine, 1" pin, pin 1" from PAP, CG stacked below, MB about 3 inches under and just towards the PAP from thumb.
What I'm looking for is heavy midlane, lots of backend control. What I'm wondering - how will this hit?

Bob,
I am going to try something similar. In a PM, Rick Leong sent me the details of a layout:
The Leong-Hall layout is placing the pin one inch from pap and place the mass bias on center line (regardless of position relative to the thumb). Also make sure to place the pin only 1 inch above midline. Remember my ball bearing analogy, basically we're taking the mb (one controlling weight) and stabilizing it on the y axis and then taking the pin (the other controlling weight) and place it slightly above the x axis. We want to create some type of "imbalance" but it is a very minimal amount hence the smoothness and control reaction we get from this layout.
Is this similar to what you are looking for? I'm going to try this on a Machine. According to Rick, it should definitely be a control drill.

Directdrill, first, thanks for an explanation of what Leong-Hall is. And yes, that's about what I'm looking for. I had this on an old Buzzsaw Blueberry and loved it, but got rid of it when I switched to 15 pounds. Been looking for a 1" pin since then.

To me it sounds like you two guys are talking about different drills.
Dramatically different drills.
