Don't think my press will allow it. It doesn't have the spindle travel to punch a hole and change bits without removing the ball. I guess it would be possible, but hard to ensure I was dead center with the 1/2" bit.
I'm thinking it would be worth the trouble...

Once the hole is drilled the bit can be removed by dropping into the hole slightly. And they do have extensions to put on the 1/2" bit in order to make the shank longer

It will come out..even with the "stop" on there? I'll have to check that tonight. I haven't been able to remove any bits with the ball in the jig........

I think they sell a Guide for the 1/2 drill and extender call them up and ask
