I have used the IT for probably 6 years. I have multiple thumbs, three different sizes and some with a little different pitch.

Honestly, you could get by with a couple or three just fine. Tape works as well with the IT as it does with a regular thumb.

Vise is coming out with a new design for the IT application. New thumb slug and thumb molly.Suppose to be out this month. Wait till your PSO can get them, then go for it .It's the Best thumb option on the market. I've drilled hundreds for my customers and several for myself. I currently carry 2.For swelling issues

I wouldn't venture into the IT world until you're fairly sure you have the correct span, and pitch for the thumb hole.

It's easy to change thumb size, because that just requires one new Slug-it which will work in all of the balls drilled the same.

But if you want to modify thumb pitch, or span, all balls would need to be modified, since the pitch/span determines the big hole drilled into each of the balls.

You can put very minor pitch, and span changes into the Slug-it, but again, very minor.

I have no doubt about my span and pitches/angles. They get checked every two years. Also, I don't plan on getting any slugs with different pitches, just sizes.

The Easy slug will have a hole in the bottom of it that will allow the little nipple on the slug molly to glue into it.That will keep it from turning after its glued.I've had several turn after a matter of time and apparently it's a problem for Vise. So the new designed Easy slug and slug molly are supposed to be available this month

That's interesting. A couple years back when they came out with the "glueless slug-it" as they called it with the new threaded safety mollies for the slug-it, you still had to glue the slug it to the slug. I always wondered why they couldn't put a notch or hole in the slug and match it to the slug-it so it wouldn't require any glue at all. I know when I talked to one of the sales guys when the threaded slug-it safetly molly came out, he sounded as if they wanted to eliminate glue as much as possible because it was usually was the single point of failure. So I wouldn't be surprised if something does come out that doesn't require glue at all. I had one that the glue separated and it spun years and years ago, and since that day have sanded the bottom of the slug and the inside of the slug-it with 80 grit sandpaper to create a rougher bonding surface.

After the first one spun yrs ago I have been doing the same thing, sanding both ends of the application. Vise also came out with a primer they wanted us to use on both ends prior to gluing. That primer doesn't seem to be the fix.I believe the problem is the two different composites of material. I've used a primer in my profession as a plumbing contractor for decades.The primer when used with the right components increases the strength of the bond 10 fold. I think the new design will eliminate that problem,with the help of the glue

I use turbo switch-grips, never seen or heard of one coming out (when they wear out they start to get a little movement - but easy enough just to buy a new one - it is the thumb inserts that wear, not the outer sleeves)...

Now they come out in oval thumbs, I insert the sleeve at 50 degees and barely touch the insert with a bevel and good to go...

Food for thought if you have any more issues with your IT..

ALSO - very easy to install - a single 1 3/8 hole - on second hold required.
