Did you note Jack's weighthole on his strong Awesome Revs ball on the windy city classic today?
The classic inside your pap weighthole to tame reaction.
On that type of shot how else could one get a ball like that to be so smooth and mild.
Of course there was Chris Barnes Action with the pin over the middle finger!
Let him play very straight with a strong ball.
Interesting stuff!

That weighthole may not have been to tame reaction. Not sure if the tour guys are "target weighting" balls, but sometimes a hole inside the VAL will actually lower the spin time and get it to transition quicker, especially on Mo's cores. I've done it on 2 Xceptions and Mo did an X5.0 for me. All 3 had weightholes inside the VAL and the spin times on all dropped below 5 seconds. Allowed the ball to read the midlane and come off the spot harder. Worked better when the pattern was longer but you still needed some downlane reaction.
I thought his transition from the spot was still pretty strong, even with a particle pearl. It covered some boards at the break.

I agree with Chappy. Lately I've seen alot of drillers target weighing the One series with larger, deeper holes. Especially since so many X-outs are popping up with huge topweights and out of whack C.G. Placements. The ones I've seen with these large target holes react much better. They actually read the mids and are stronger off the break without the suprises of over/under.

Weightholes inside the PAP do not tame the reaction on asymmetrical like they do for symmetrical. The hole must be placed on the PAP to reduce flare on these. MoRich has a chart where you match up static weights to see how close you can place the balance hole.

If placing the hole inside of the VAL will lower the spin time, is there a hole placement area that will "increase" the spin time?
