That wouldn't be a pin-axis layout for anyone except Mike Fagan's evil twin. It's a high pin with the CG kicked right. I don't know what Steve Jaros' PAP is, but if he's like most pros, it's probably in the 5" range. That'd put the pin about 5" from PAP, which is also pretty typical for a lot of pros.
On a dull ball like that, it should help to keep it from reading too early with the surface acting to smooth out the reaction on the backend. Again, that sounds pretty typical for a lot of pros.
