« on: January 23, 2009, 12:22:15 PM »
where would you have to put a weight hole to get the ball to stop tracking over the middle finger....

i like the ball it just loses all reaction when it hits the finger

ball is drilled pin right under ring
cg is above and to the right of thumb about half inch away..

any help is more then welcomed thank you all in advanced

A balance hole 6 3/4" down the line 45 degrees to the PAP to pin line (into the positive thumb quadrant) should raise the bowtie enough to get the track off the MF hole.  This is similar to the balance hole used in the Rico layout, so read some of the posts on Rico.  You should have enough thumb weight to allow a fairly good sized hole.  But I'm not sure that will cure your problem with the ball losing its reaction.  That sounds like it's rolling out just as it flares into the finger hole.  I would try sanding to a higher grit and/or polishing the ball before I drilled the balance hole.  --  JohnP

the ball is highly polished already

i say it loses reaction because as the ball revs up u can hear it thump over the finger and it just doesnt have that good move that i kno it can have yea i want the bow tie to just raise im sure because it only really hits it when the ball revs up ..

Flaring into the finger hole really shouldn't cause the ball to lose reaction, but adding the balance hole (be sure to stay legal) won't hurt anything and may help.  --  JohnP
