pin negative reaction

anyone put the pin under the middle finger? keeping the cg positive or zero side?

tell me on what ball and how you liked it.

Did it on a Sledge Hammer.

Compared to 3 3/8 and mass bias on val(6 inches of flare).

Thsi ball went straight for 40 feet and then flipped pretty hard.

Very little flare movement until the last few rings.  Total flare maybe 2 to 2 1/2 inches.

BAckend a little harder than I want even with a stabilizing hole!

went pin in middle with one of my first non plastic balls.  ebo adrenaline pin in middle MB on/just barely showing right of thumb slug.  just as lefty said get way down the lane and got kicked left flared maybe an 1.5" and most of the time hit the thumbhole

Not really a "negative" pin.  I use alot of balls with the pin over the middle finger or left of it.

Depends on your PAP.  When you put the pin over your middle finger, you are moving it farther from your PAP which usually gives you more length.

The difference is say... for Lucky Lefty pin over his middle finger might be 5 1/4 inches, which puts it very close to his track, lots of length and energy savings, and then BOOM, big back ends.

For me, pin over my middle finger is only about 4 3/4 inches from my PAP, because I have a low track.  For me to get a 5 1/4 pin to PAP like Lucky Lefty, then the pin would have to be to the left of my middle finger.  My track is not inverted, so no worries about clipping any holes.

I can get a hook and set type motion, controlled back end with the pin under/left of my middle finger, and the CG/mass bias swung hard to the right, say at 45 degrees.  Big hole, shallow close to my PAP, a little below.

Remember your mileage may vary....

Yeah;  that's where the pin and CG end up when I use Brunswick's 4E layout.

I've had this layout in a variety of balls, and it gives me the length of a longer pin-to-PAP without a violent transition at the break.  It's been a good layout for me for tougher conditions where I need to keep the ball tighter in front.

I guess negative would be the wrong expresion but on the track side of the gripline. pins that close to teh track can have a different reaction than just a 1/2" to the right.
