Title: layout
Post by: jimrpam on February 10, 2007, 06:04:27 AM
I just purchased a Storm Fired Up 15# ball (3.12oz top weight & 1.5 - 2" pin plasement).  I'm not sure how to get this drilled.  Very new to this.  I bowl finger tip with a plastic ball and a cheap urethane ball.  Get very little hook on either.  I bowl the ball about 18 - 19mph (not sure on the rev).  I'm not trying to get a whole lot of hook on the ball, but would like some.  Having a very hard time hitting the pocket on a consistent basis with what I got.

thx,
Jim

Again, I'm new to this!  So any kind of suggestions would help.

Jim, best bet would be to take the ball to a pro shop and ask them to watch you bowl. It is really hard for someone online to tell you how to get it drilled and have never seen you throw the ball. That would be my best advice for ya. Good Luck and hope it works out for ya

I hold the ball palm up and pretty much just come up like I'm shaking someones hand.  I don't know if that helps or not.

Jim,

Based on what you have said about how fast you throw the ball, the Fired Up may not have been the best choice.  (If I am infact thinking of the right ball)  From what I have seen, the players with really high speeds, match up better to dull equipment, due to the fact it will grab the lane quicker and wont' slide as much as the Fired Up.

I could be wrong, but just trying to help.
