I have just been given a superpower and the Pin is only 1 inch away from the cg. Apparently this is going to make it roll early what drilling can I get to give it a bit more length and backend?
-
no, that's not necessarily true.........depends on how you lay it out....
what do you want it to do?

Well Mainly I want a fair bit of length but a decent backend, I already have a sp with a pin 4 inches from the cg but its not highly polished and it burns up before it hits leaving me loads of single pins.
I'm more Walter ray than Robert smith ( More down and in than out and in ) Tweener.....

how is sp1 laid out ?

Seeing as you are more of a straighter player,
I might would suggest putting a 315 on the ball.
What is the top wt? YOu need a 1" pin and 2.5oz tw to do the
315.
I put a 315 on a charcoal executioner, and polised it to 1000.
It gets through the heads and still has a good finish on it.

Yeah close as in 0-1" is what I have read.
I find it interesting that the ball rolls at you feet.
what type of balls were these?
I also did a 315 on a Fuel, which I think is symetrical
and didn't have a problem with it either.
Were the ball that rolled for you very strong balls
to start?

Jabroni, for what it's worth, I used a Roto Grip Major Assault with a 315 layout a couple of weeks back on pretty dry conditions. In a house where I normally have played right of 1st arrow I was playing left of 15. Now the MA was highly polished, but it is a pretty aggressive ball. I had not trouble with it on the dry. Yes, it was pretty early, but really sort of glided thru the front and had a minimal reaction off the back. But I don't think this layout will help Supernoodle; it may get him more length, but it won't add any backend, imo.
