Back when I bowled youth leagues and Samantha Fox was hot....scratch that, she's still hot....I remember seeing pinkie grip holes on some of the adult bowlers equipment.

can this "pinkie hole" help support the ball to those bowlers with h/o of injury to their wrist?

Also, in the recent past, I've bowled with guys who had x-holes near/above their finger holes. what was the purpose for that?

I like to keep my stuff (layouts) simple and rely more on the surface... But I'm curious about my past observations.

We've used pinky holes for those whose fingers are painful from arthritis to take some load from the middle and ring fingers. Wrist? I don't know unless the bowler releases the ball differently.

On some of our full roller layouts we have positioned an X-hole right above the fingers. I believe it's about 6 3/4" from the pin, but not sure if that figure is exact. Maybe some of the experts can chime in.

Could this possibly be a mill hole to test the hardness like the PBA did years ago?
