Layout for DV8 Thug Unruly
« on: January 18, 2015, 09:20:47 PM »
Thinking of buying this ball and want a layout for maximum hook. Slower speed bowler (14) with medium revs on THS. DV8 website suggest pin under but my drillers have usually suggested pin out for me.

Pin to pap should be your bigger focus.
…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.

Well if you don't know your specific release specs . . . 50/5/40 for most bowlers works well. But, this is a general layout that was studied by Mo Pinel during testing of the Guru. I've used it for a group of customers after talking to Mo. It works very well. With slower ball speed, you'll want to change the pin to pap or angle ratios. The best thing you can do, is seek the recommendation of a qualified pro shop technician in your area.

Let your pro shop worry about that. If you have a good shop, they will have your stats and should drill your ball according to what is best for your game, or what you want.

In general, the sooner the ball gets into the roll the max hook. Shorter pin to pap are usually recommended.

Surface adjustments will be the key factor. From what I've been told, surface is 70% reaction.

If your speed is soft I hope that your house has a ton of oil in the middle of the lane.  I am yet to find enough juice to use the Unruly comfortably for more than a game
