Title: Layout for Virtual Gravity
Post by: pin-chaser on February 06, 2009, 08:59:49 AM
Just got my Virtual Gravity 15# 3"Pin and 3.1oz Top... My Specs are in my profile. I am looking to make this ball jump off the drier boards right and off the back with more angularity.

Right now the ball that reacts the way I am looking albeit not enough is a Playmaker with a 5.5" X 5 pin above or a BW Bite with the same layout. I know this ball hooks more than both of these balls and I am not necessarily looking for more hook just more reaction to drier boards.

I am thinking of a 5 x 5 pin below? What do you think? I will be drilling tomorrow for a tournament on Sunday.

Thanks for you input.

Hey pin-chaser,

I like the 5x5mb but if possible, I'd go with the pin up above fingers for a little more length and stored energy.  I'm saying this based on your want of more angularity off the spot.  Hope this helps some...

Definitely stick with a longer pin to pap, and this ball will be angular off the spot with pin below. Of the billions(it seems) i have drilled, pin under is my recommendation for most bowlers. Pin up, this ball can tend to be a little too angular and jumpy off the spot, and with pin down, you can use surface to dictate the length without the fear of over/under.

Eneded up drilling bal 5.5" x 5 pin up mb next to right of thumb .... looks like this:

   o
0   0

    cg

   O mb

THIS BALL HOOKS!!!! WOW... at least 5-7 deeper with my feet and playing to same break point!! And it moves off the spot what seems like dead left. Continuation through the pins is an understatement. I left box finish but today I certainly need polish as I started out playing 18-20 to 10-7 at 35'. My Hammer BWB I was playing 15-13 to 10-7 at 35' (fresh factory surface). My BWP and my Playmaker are both a little stronger than my BWB and more angularr off the spot but neither of them can spell angular as compared to the VG.
I drilled this ball for my wednesday league and if this ball does not give me what I need than nothing will.
