Title: LAYOUT ISSUES

What kind of reactions should i expect from these layouts.

pin under bridge, cg kicked out at 45 degrees

pin OVER bridge, cg kicked out at 45 degrees

pin above and right of ring, cg strait down

pin above and right of ring, cg kicked out at 45 degrees

Its hard to say what they will do since we don't know your PAP

Also with the CG out 45 degrees, if the ball needs a weight hole depending on the amount of side weight, it will effect the reaction also.

Its easier to say where the cg is than the mb is..

A good rule, not exact but a good rule.

Taken from Ebonite site:


Mass Bias degree placements are determined by the angle formed by a line drawn from the pin to the Mass Bias versus a line drawn from the pin to the Positive Axis Point.  The placement of the Mass Bias is a secondary influence on determining ball motion.  Pin Distance is the most important influence.  Mass Bias placements and ball motions as follows:

0 Degree Mass Bias Very Smooth and Even reaction
45 Degree Mass Bias Early roll Ball Reaction
75 Degree Mass Bias Strong and Angular Ball Reaction
90 Degree Long and Smooth Ball Reaction
135 Degree Mass Bias Not Recommended Because of Very Little Flare Potential

so if i go with a 75 degree placement on my cg then i will get a more skid flip reaction?
