I've used 4 different ball drillers in El Paso and they all use generic drill patterns. I've asked why they they don't use the PAP measurement and they all claim that they're really not needed. Is this a common practice or do I need to look for a more experienced Pro Shop?

My former pro shop didn't do anything with my PAP, didn't even bother trying to find it. Told me I didn't need it.

My new pro shop found it the day I asked him if he could install a Grip-Loc system (my old pro shop told me they don't do them, nor will they try). He checked out my span, pitches, found my PAP and everything the first time I asked him to add the slug. Great guy, and great coach.

I'd say look for a new pro shop. My other guy never listened to me or talked to me about my balls, and drilled everything label. I can tell my new guy will be a much bigger help (he already has been on the lanes).

PAPs, along with automatic pinsetters and reactive bowling balls, are merely passing fads and should be forgotten soon after you hear about them.
