Layout Question...Please Help

I'll get right to the point with this one.

You give John Q bowler two new high-performance balls of the same make and model (say the Ultimate Inferno for instance).  Both have the exact box specs.  Going off of the CG and Pin only (say they are symmetric core balls) you drill one stacked leverage (say 3 3/8" x 3 3/8" from the PAP) and the other just label leverage (cg at the center of grip with the pin 3 3/8" from the PAP).  Say John Q bowler is a medium speed power stroker with medium revs and bowls on synthetic lanes with a THS.  Now the lanes have just been stripped and oiled.  The length of the oil is around 40 feet and the backends are fresh and dry.

First, John Q throws the ball that is drilled stacked lev.  He notices that the ball gets down the lane longer than expected with a decent turn to the pocket.  A little confused, he decides to slow the ball down.  This time it hits the breakpoint a little sooner, but it is still a lot tamer than he expected this ball would be with such a strong drilling on it.

Now he throws the label lev. ball.  It seems to grab earlier than the previous ball did.  It has a good midlane and arcing backend motion and he is able to throw it with his normal speed.

What would cause a label lev. drilled ball to react stronger than one drilled stacked lev?  Now keep in mind that there is a very good amount of oil up front before it gets to the backend.  Could it be that one drilling favors a certain type of relase or axis tilt?  I have seen this happen several times and I don't have an explanation to give the person when they ask me what is going on...

Since the pin is in basically the same position the flare potential is the same so the should have the same amount of hook but the shape will be different. If the stacked one has a high degree of positive side weight it may actually end up with a bit more length, since the more pos side, top, and finger weight you have the more length.
Symmetrical balls are not affected nearly as much as asymmetric balls are by the MB placement.
Swinging the CG out toward the PAP causes the ball to loose axis tilt and rotation faster so the stacked ball may just be loosing it's AT and AR to quickly to have a big reaction when it reaches the break point.
Have him roll both balls with a higher degree of axis rotation than normal and see how they react.
I am curious though why would you drill both balls with the pin in the leverage position?
The reason I ask is I have 2 of the same ball:
4.5" pin drilled 5.75(P) X 4(MB) pin high above middle finger, great from outside the 7 if firm or SKID/SNAP from inside when the heads or track area are going away.
3" pin drilled 3.75(P) X 4(MB) pin just above ring, great when I need the ball to read a little sooner, when the backends are screaming, if the outside  is over/under and the track area is spotty and when playing a tighter line.

I was just using it as an example.  What you said makes perfect sense now.  Thanks.
