Pin at 3 o'clock -- what reaction?
« on: November 17, 2009, 12:16:20 PM »
I just picked up an old Faball Red Pearl Hammer. The cg is in the palm and the pin is at 3 o'clock. I've never seen a drilling like this... what can I expect?

Thanks

Primarily depends on the pin to PAP distance.  --  JohnP

The hammers at that time had a granade shape core.  The drill instructions disected the ball into 4 quandrants,  Right up and down and left up and down.  Depending on the type of reaction you wanted, you would place the pin into one of these quandrants.  Very simple and it worked.

Thanks to everyone for the answers.  I just picked up a Blue Hammer (solid) with a label drill... fantastic ball.  I don't know if it's the 2-piece construction (core and hard urethane shell with no filler) or what, but the carry is absolutely amazing.

I'd love to see one of the old drill sheets for these balls.

Generally a small arcing hook that revs earlier. Great for wet/drys. As stated above, depends on your pin to pap.
