Speaking of CG, what to do
« on: March 07, 2008, 10:22:44 AM »
A friend of mine has given me an Action Attack with the pin and the CG within
3/4 of an inch. If I place the pin at 45 from the  ring finger above the fingers what can I expect on reaction. Will I still get it down the lane before it breaks.

You can expect it to probably not be legal after drilling.

Ya know, it's good of you to answer, but if you're taking the time to respond, why don't you splain to him why it most likely will not be legal. I mean it wouldn't take that much more effort to say it may have too much finger or pos side!

Legal yes, legal no depends quite a lot on the starting top weight.  2.5oz or so, probably not gonna be all that hard to get legal.  3oz or more, maybe you have a tough time.  Might have to combo the fingers deeper and a high weight hole to get it to work out but there's no reason you can't make it work with a reasonable top weight.

Put the pin at 45 high and put the cg bear the palm. Drill ring finger deeper if necessary.

Here is BrunsNicks answer to drilling finger &/or thumb holes deep.(from another thread)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Burying" the gripping holes deep can KILL the differential of the bowling ball. This testing was done when the USBC was floating around the idea of eliminating X-holes.
