I'm looking for a layout that will help a new ball in my arsenal roll out at the pocket. I'm starting to get convinced that I'll never get a ball to be able to do this though. I'm a low tracker with high revs and medium high ball speed.
425 rpm
pap 3 1/2 right -- 0 up and down
ball speed 18-19 mph
With my low track I'm starting to think it will be almost impossible to get a ball drilled the proper way. I have a total nv drilled pin in palm that gives me the highest ball track but it is FAR from rolling out. All of my balls backend like mad because of my rev rate and low track and I'm looking for something that will roll out so I have a lot more control.
Low pins give me more control but are still not what i'm looking for. If anyone has any ideas, your input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

what if you put your pin extremely close on your pap?

I've tried balls with very low grit (500, 320 etc etc) and they just hook earlier and harder, nothing ever really rolls out.
lfsoccer, I have a Thunderstruck Pearl that has the pin about 2" from the pap, and it rolls pretty early and smooth even though it's a pearl...but the fact that's it's a pearl and is shiny might prevent the roll out...I might put a low low grit on it and see what I come up with.

Look at the "Pin Axis" layout.

220...221...whatever it takes.

I might try that layout, lefty...have you ever tried a layout like that? just wondering how it rolls/hits

i have another layout to try...
take the pin and CG and flip them. put the pin under bridge or middle finger and put the CG above the fingers. this will cause the ball to be very smooth, no backend, and basically roll out.

Yes! 1-2 inch pin to pap should accomplish what you seek.

pin up close to VAL gets ball to roll out for me...about 2 inches from pap and .5 inches from VAL

spoke to Victor from storm and he suggested to punch up a virtual gravity 1000 grit abralon finish, no polish drilled to the following specs:
4 x 3 ½†with a 3†Pin Buffer. This will put the Pin directly under my middle finger, just left of my midline. The high flare potential will force the ball into a roll, but the location of the Mass Bias will cause the ball to lose axis tilt as soon as possible. The 1000 grit finish will also generate a fair amount of friction forcing the ball into a roll sooner.
I'm going to try this layout and see what happens. But he told me with my tilt and pap and my rev rate it might not totally roll out...so i guess i'm hopeless

go axis-leverage. take a 3-4" pin, put cg on axis, big weight hole. ball will definitely roll out.
