layout/cover ideas for tougher patterns
« on: February 23, 2015, 06:11:01 AM »
I will be starting to go to more tournaments. With that being said, my arsenal is all pin up. What type of layouts / cover  combinations should I look at. I am thinking of getting a pin down Hyper Cell (solid) with a lower grit on the cover. And maybe a pin down Skid or Unhinged, but I am not sure about layouts, and yes I will get with my pro shop, I am just getting some ideas from everyone. I will be on a variety of kegal patterns.

It's kind of hard to make recommendations, without knowing anything about your style, like rev rate & ball speed. Having said that, for tougher patterns, I like rollier pieces, and keeping my angles straighter, at least until the lanes open up. My current favorites are the Motiv Forza, 900 Global War Eagle, DV8 Dude, Storm Hyroad, and Arson Low Flare Pearl.

If the lanes let me I like to play between 10-5, but if the pattern wont alow me to do that then I will have to move in. I don't have alot of hand, revs I will say medium to low, more speed dominate. Now if the back ends are moving I can swing it, I know my Skid will come back. I know I will need to practice more when the outsides are flooded, and soften up the speed some.
