Balance Hole/Flare Increase

I have a small balance hole in my buzzbomb. The hole is probably 3/4" wide.

Can I increase flare/hook by widening the balance hole? I think the balance hole is somewhere along or slightly below my PAP.

All depends on the location, if it is below your axis it is possible but if its just barely below then the effect will not be that great.

Moving the weight hole around will do SOME changes but not much.  Plugging and re-drilling the ball may be your only hope.  Please change surface before plugging to see if your desired reaction could be changed that way.

this is more of a question then an answer.. I was lead to believe that a larger shallow hole will make the ball read earlier and a deeper narrow hole will save energy for a more angular reaction.. if anyone has more info to add please do cause Iam not 100% positive myself.. as stated up above,changing the surface may also give you what you are looking for..  this is a good habit to get into before adding additional holes to your equipment

Generally, you are correct, but the difference would only be slight.
Much more effective is proper location of the hole, altering the core shape. That normally requires a deep hole, the larger in diameter, the more effective.

The variables that can effect flare in regards to the weight hole is distance from PAP, size and depth. The strongest weight hole is one that is 3 3/8" from the PAP and 6 3/4" from the pin.
The larger the bit size, generally the early the ball will want to respond. The smaller generally responds slower. Shallower versus deeper would be comparable to bit size.

I understand the 6 3/4 from the pin part.. can you explain why 3 3/8 from the pap is the strongest??
