Lefty blister on inside of ring finger
« on: August 03, 2011, 01:12:08 AM »
Just curious as to the likely cause and correct adjustment for a blister on a lefty at the first joint on the inside of fhe ring finger--- on the side of the finger between fhe ring and middle finger.

My thought was that he needs to increase left pitch.

Pitch is a bi-product of having a correct span. If the span is pulling it can create undo wear on the finger. Make sure the span is not too long before adjusting. Secondly if it is on the inside of the finger towards the middle then, taking everything else into consideration, the pitch would want to be adjusted towards the middle or right. It also can depend on the middle finger pitch as well as the thumb lateral.

Lateral pitches in fingers are more for comfort than anything else.

Span is ok. Release looks clean and easy. Just rubbing on the inside of the ring  finger right at the first joint enough to blister after six or seven games.

I thought that moving the pitch away from the middle finger left would shift pressure away from the joint down towards the fingertip.  You seem to be saying just the opposite.

Try adding some bevel to the area that's causing the blister.  Also be sure there isn't a rough area there.  --  JohnP

angle it towards the issue or blister in this case
