Looking for Insight on Changing my span and pitches
« on: January 06, 2004, 01:27:50 AM »
The reason that i am looking to change is that i don't feel like i can get the ball down soon enough at the line like is required to get the ball longer down the lane on certain lane conditions.  I think that my thumb being so reversed that i am squeezing the ball until release which is usually projected 3 to 4+ feet on the lane.  So i want to go to a more relaxed grip.

So here are my stats
Right hander
med/high revs and speed
Span is 5 3/16 x 5 1/4
fingers drilled zero with grips is 1/8 under (towards palm)
thumb is 1/2 reverse (away from palm)

I was thinking of changing it to 5 1/16 x 5
with the fingers at 1/4 reverse (away from palm) with grips 1/8
and changing the thumb to only 1/4 reverse.

Is this the right way to go about it or is there a better way any comments would be greatly appreciated

It is really difficult to give you pitch suggestions without seeing your hand. BUT if you want to do the 1/4 reverse in the thumb, I believe (and someone on here will correct me if I am wrong) that for ever 1/8 you move your thumb towards ZERO you should only move your fingers 1/16 reverse. If that is the case then you would be at 1/4 reverse in your thumb and 1/8 reverse in your fingers.
