Title: Looking for more rotation and tilt
Post by: backupball on October 06, 2003, 04:50:50 AM
What finger pitches could I use to increase the rotation and tilt that I have in my release?  Is there a difference in these areas if I use say 1/2 left in middle and 0 l/r in the ring versus 0 l/r in middle and 1/2 right in ring (keeping the forward/reverse the same when doing this).

Thanks in advance for any info.

backupball -- I don't think finger pitch changes are going to help you here.  Tilt and rotation are mainly influenced by wrist cock and amount of turn and lift when you release.  --  JohnP

I find as a lefty a little more turn as I go with more right in my pitches.

I figure as you stated you would find a little more with going left as a righty.

More to the right for you keeps you more behind the ball.

The standard view is that right left are not a major influence but forward and reverse is.

Most gurus today put more forward on their middle finger for more turn and tilt and more reverse in the ring for less lift and less tilt.

Thanks for the feedback so far.  I'm going to experiment a little bit with this and if I find anything significant, I will post about it.

If anyone else has any thoughts, please feel free to post!
