Mass Bias Placement
« on: July 07, 2009, 06:53:57 AM »
What effect does placing the Mass Bias to the left of the thumb hole (for right-handed bowler) have on ball reaction ?  We're talking medium speed, low-rev, with plenty of forward roll.  Reaction on dry, medium and oily ?

Thanks.

For a really strong asymmetric core it's recommended that you don't place the MB much further than 6 1/2" away from the PAP.  Further than that and you risk having a ball that will flare over finger/thumb holes.

Generally, the further away from the the PAP the MB is, the less effect it has on the balls overall reaction.

This would result in a very smooth ball reaction and I wouldn't recommend it for a speed dominant bowler.
