I've used it on a variety of bowling balls and found each to be slightly different and very complimentary. You can do that with any drill pattern across a variety of bowling balls to give you the same look but be able to handle different amounts of oil.
I have a Ultimate Inferno on the Rico pattern that I start with and as the oil starts to dry out I switch to a Wildthing then as I need to move further in I go to a Revolution Real Speed Pro(pearl cover, inferno core) that is on the same pattern and has a more aggressive backend reaction then my wildthing. It makes it easier to change bowling balls and know exactly what to expect from the ball.
If I have a bowling ball where I think it may be a little weak on that exact pattern I will modify it by first drawing the ball up on the Rico Pattern then moving my center grip line an inch left. This moves the pin an inch closer to my PAP. This also fits well with my Rico stuff it just gives me a little more aggressive pin placement.
