Rico layout questions
« on: June 08, 2010, 03:01:24 AM »
I am not to familiar with this layout but have heard a lot of talk about it. I know where the pin and cg are located but I'm not really sure what the reaction will be on the lane. I just picked up a T-road solid and a Rotogrip illusion and have been wanting to try this layout so I figure I can try it on one of these. Which ball should I try it on?

Try these two:

Since a Rico drill usually makes a ball react earlier and smoother, I''d usually suggest trying it on the flippier of 2 balls. In your case, the Illusion.

Keep in mind that a Rico does not care what the bowler''s PAP is. So, while it could be a very strong drilling, if your PAP were 3.5" - 4" over, it could be a very weak drilling, if your PAP were 5.5" - 6" over. In general, I feel you''re better off and safer using a specific drilling, rather than a Rico.
