I hear quite a bit about people who match up well with equipment with certain ball companies. How does one know when they are matching up well with certain equipment?
I have tried equipment from 4 different companies and do not generally see a drastic change in terms of ball reaction. Some have more backend, and some have more roll in the midlane, but nothing very different overall.
Thanks

It is not really matching up to a company. It is more matching up to a reaction type. It just works out that certain companies tend to specialize more in a certain reaction. Storm-skip/flip Brunswick- midlane roll/arc
It is really the type of reaction you are most comfortable throwing (skid/snap, arcing). it is the reaction type that you can use on most patterns and be competitive with.
I find that for myself this is more of a skid type reaction.

I'd also not say that I'd match up better with a certain company than with others. I just found out over time that my style matches well with certain drillings and RG and differential numbers, and that certain coverstock properties are simply not beneficial for my game and what I want the balls to do. After all, laws of physics apply to everyone.
But I also had the case that I simply do not seem to match up with certain combos - e. g. the inverted bell core from Brunswick's BVP balls. Any ball of this series I tested did not work well - but the coverstock with other cores were O.K.. It might also be that if a ball does not seem to "fit" well, some fine-tuning on coverstock or a balance hole can do wonders. And there's the psychological effect that if one ball works well, this image is taken over to other balls from this manufacturer. I guess this is "matching up" phenomenon is mostly a psychological thing.

I love the reaction I get with Storm equipment, I just cann't seem to carry when I hit the pocket. I carry much better with other manufacturer's equipment.
