Ball layouts

I am looking for a good reference to learn how pin placements and mass bias placements affect ball reaction.  I would like to understand this better so that I can make informed decisions on layouts for my equipment.

Don't need high volumes of oil to have low pin drillings.  They help to calm the reaction of a ball down a little bit by making the ball use up some of its energy earlier than a high pin ball.  Couple a low pin drilling with a matte surface and you have a great fresh oil ball or extreme wet dry...atleast on the conditions that I see.
