Title: Max Diameter for balance holes?

Subject pretty much says it all.  1 1/4" or what?

Yes the max is 1 1/4 I never go beyond 1 1/8 though. Considering if the you go to 1 1/4 and get a chip they can consider it to be too large if they want to be a butt head.
And if you are pitching the hole you have to consider the fact that the hole becomes oval at the surface making it slightly larger.
