Whipped for two years by a condition that has beaten not just me but many a fellow lefty down for 3 years!

To be continued!

OK two houses owned by the same centers have sort of a strange oil shortage going on.

Just on the left!!!  SOrt of.  Righties can move in and carry.  Lefties can move have tons of hold area and hit the hole but have flat 10 after flat 10.

So lefties are forced to move wide left which results in no hold area in the midlanes but at least one gets carry equal to righties with about 1/2 a decent lefties hand!

Differences in high left and right averages in these houses for 3 years about 20 pins, righties all higher.  1 300 game in one house by a lefty....FOR 3 years!

Anyway.  In one of these houses that seems to be a slightly slower anvilane surface I've found the Dyno groove gets plenty long enough while playing outside in the dirt.  This ball with no midlane goes straight, the lane supplies a little midlane and then the ball generates some good strong backend.
Sniffed at a 300 the other night in a center I could rarely double in.
I'll get to doubling problem next.

On the slicker(not necessarily more oil, just slicker in the sense that no inside shots will carry for the lefty due to the harder anvilane surface I think.  The dyno appears to go too long but the Roto Grip SOnic X drilled stacked is giving me a nice little reaction and carry on a small siwng near 10!! The Sonic Boom almost looks similar in this center to the Dyno at the other.

Most importantly.

Know how if you've tried a drilling on a ball and its a dud you never forget it and may say something like"I'll never try that drilling again!"

Well I have not liked stacked in the bridge drillings.  For the average lefthander at least on pearls I had experienced tremendous over uder with these drilings.

Page forward to the last several weeks in these houses.

A Hyde I sort of acquired set up for a righty basically in the bridge.
Disappointment I'll never be able to use this.

Drilling 5 1/2 X 6(negative cg).  Never did I figure out that this drilling placed in a solid smooth reactive like the Hyde will exhibit almost no flare in the heads and midlanes finally only moving and flaring when the ball started to slow down at the end of the pattern.

Lefty after lefty I have seen drilling their stuff with the classic pin next to ring and cg out a little and they cannot figure out why they cant' the ball down to the breakpoint in this grabby midlane center for a guy!

This switch to solid reactives yields more punch than than I expected while preventing the sprouting up of numerous 6 pins as described for the clsssicly trained drillers.  Those with stronger pins(lefty habit) tend to get an early midlane leaving them chewing paper on their way out to granny and daddies!

In addition it is better than pearl reactives because their move is hard off dry.

This same low rg solid coverstock is able to go so far with little effort due to this change of drilling.

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS the solid reacitve cuts down the over under and gives me control of the midlanes that pearls with this drilling tend to break free in the midlanes.
PPS the cg is placed directly under the pin even though I have been told that this is unimportant as I have found on a shot like this that requires a strong drive to the hole that only the cg under pin drilling is the one that gives enough drive to the hole.  I'm sure I'm wrong and the Wiseman drilling would have worked but ,  what the hell I'm just humouring myself!

10 righties over 220, 1 lefty over 210 the last two years him at 211!

That's why I bowl there!

REgards,

PS it may be that we lefties have found conditions so similar all over the country(wetter) that we can't change our mindset and drill for the condition!  (ME).
I actually think my shot is almost as good as theirs with my new setup.  We'll see.

LL -- Now, to compare the two houses we need to see the percentage of high average righties versus the percentage of high average lefties.  Let's say 210 to define high average.  --  JohnP

30% of righties in this high level league are 210 and above.
5 % of lefties,....1 of 20.

First over 211 in 3 years.  1 300 for lefties in 3 years at two houses, no 800s for lefties at two houses.  Righties, 3 800s last two weeks!

If I was a righty I'd say, "Sounds fair to me".  As a lefty I say, "There are a lot of happy people here!"
